    Pembuatan Keramik Berpori Denan aditif Cangkang Kelapa sebagai Filter Gas Buang Kendaraan Bermotor

    Abstract
    Kaolin, feldsfar, ball clay and quartz are the rute materials for making ceramics. It had been for making the porouse ceramics with the coconut shell about 30 % weight. The process of making the slip casting methot is used by slicing the whole materials until 100 mesh, and it mixer by coconut shell in the liquid zone. This mixure is molded, weighted baked, than reweight to get shringking. The burning is done by furnace until the temprature 1100oC and the resistance for two hours. The examination of physics and mechanics characteristic is burn shrinky, porouse, density, hardness, pressure test and the power absorpsion to the exile gas, where as the microstructure analize is done by using XRD. Based on the examination of the physics and mecanics characteristic, it is got that at the sintering temperatur 1100oC burned shrinking = 2,47 %, porosity = 48,98 %, density = 1,015 gram/cm3, the Vikers hardness about 999,6 MPa, the strong pressure = 3,25 x 105 N/m2, the power absorpsion to the exile gas CO = 23,80 % , CO2 = 22,44 %, hidrocarbon = 16,03 %, it increases the O2 about 382,14 %. The analyzes of XRD shows at 11000C rise two phase that mixed phisickly, they are quartz (Si O2) and feldsfar (K5 Na5 Al Si3 O8).
     
    Kaolin, feldspar, ball clay dan kwarsa adalah bahan dasar pembuatan keramik. Telah dilakukan pembuatan keramik berpori dengan aditif cangkang kelapa sebanyak 30 % berat. Proses pembuatan sampel dilakukan dengan metode slip casting dengan cara menghaluskan semua bahan sampai 100 mesh, kemudian dicampur dengan carbon cangkang kelapa dalam media air, campuran ini dicetak, ditimbang, dibakar, kemudian ditimbang kembali untuk mendapatkan penyusutan. Pembakaran dilakukan dengan furnace hingga mencapai suhu 1100°C dan penahanan selama 2 jam. Pengujian sifat fisis dan mekanis yang dilakukan adalah susut bakar, porositas, densitas, kekerasan, kuat tekan dan daya absorpsi terhadap gas buang, sedangkan analisa mikrostruktur dilakukan dengan menggunakan XRD. Berdasarkan pengujian sifat fisis dan mekanis yang dilakukan diperoleh bahwa pada suhu sintering 1100°C susut bakar = 2,47 %, porositas = 48,98 %, densitas = 1,015 gram/cm3, kekerasan Vikers 999,6 MPa, kuat tekan 3,25 x 105 N/m2, daya absorbsi terhadap gas buang CO = 23,80 %, gas CO2 = 22,44 %, Hidrokarbon = 16,03 %, sekaligus menaikkan kadar gas O2 sebanyak 382,14 %. Hasil analisa XRD menunjukkan bahwa pada suhu 11000C telah terbentuk dua fasa yang bercampur secara fisis yaitu kwarsa (Si O2) dan feldspar (K5 Na5 Al Si3 O8).
