    Pengaruh Baffle Cut terhadap unjuk Kerja Termal dan Penurunan Tekanan pada Alat Penukar Kalor Shell and Tube Susunan Tabung Segiempat

    Abstract
    The objective of the research was to investigate and to analyze the influence of baffle cut on thermal performance and the decrease in pressure in heat transfer, shell and tube 1-1 pass, square tube arrangement. The type of baffle was single segment type with the range of the baffle was 40 mm. The testing was conducted by using four variations of baffle cut: 11%, 25.6%, 38.88%, and 48.97%. The result of the research showed that the coefficient of heat transfer in optimum Nusselt number (Nu) and the decrease in pressure in minimum friction factor (f) found in baffle cut were 25.6%, and the loss of pressure of each of them was Nu = 0.0253 Re0.764 and f = 2.636 Re- 0.214 (Lb/Ds)0.214 for 10136 < Re < 38944 and 0.27 < Lb/Ds < 0.54
     
    Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menyelidiki dan mengetahui pengaruh baffle cut terhadap unjuk kerja termal dan penurunan tekanan pada alat penukar kalor shell and tube 1-1 pass dengan susunan tabung segi empat. Jenis baffle yang digunakan adalah jenis segmen tunggal dengan jarak baffle 40 mm. Pengujian dilakukan dengan 3 variasi baffle cut yaitu 11 %, 25,6 %, 38,88 %, 48,97 %. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh koefisien perpindahan kalor yang dinyatakan dengan bilangan Nusselt (Nu) yang optimum dan penurunan tekanan yang dinyatakan dengan faktor gesek (f) yang minimum diperoleh pada baffle cut 25,6 % dan kerugian tekanan masing-masing adalah : Nu = 0,0253 Re0,764 dan f = 2,636 Re-0,214 (Lb/Ds)0,214 untuk : 10136 < Re < 38944 dan 0,27 < Lb/Ds < 0,54
