Kajian Struktur Tata Ruang Kota

Abstract

The growth and development of the city will create a pressure on the level of city services which is decreasing and the carrying capacity of the land decreases, thus reducing the quality of life of the population and the productivity of activities in the city such as traffic jams, slum housing environments, irregular building structures and so on. Our development and growth without a plan and direction will cause problems that are difficult to solve, so that an imbalance in the use of urban space will be created. In order to optimize urban development, the use of urban space needs to be directed in a city spatial plan consisting of spatial structure and spatial patterns. Therefore, this research was conducted to find the spatial structure pattern in Medan Johor District. The study of the spatial structure pattern of Medan Johor District was analyzed based on the elements that form the spatial structure, including: Population, Activity Service Center and Infrastructure Network. This research uses qualitative methods with both primary and secondary data collection techniques. The analysis method used in this research is descriptive analysis, multiple interest projection analysis and map overlay analysis. The results of the study can be concluded that the spatial structure pattern in Medan Johor Subdistrict is close to the concentric concept with the urban development pattern in the middle of Medan Johor District as the city center. With the spatial structure model, seen based on its service centers in Medan Johor Subdistrict, it approaches a multi-nodal spatial structure model which consists of one service center and several sub-centers which are connected to each other.

Pertumbuhan dan perkembangan kota akan memberikan tekanan kepada tingkat pelayanan kota yang semakin menurun dan daya dukung lahan yang berkurang sehingga menurunkan kualitas hidup penduduk dan produktivitas kegiatan di kota seperti kemacetan lalu lintas, lingkungan perumahan kumuh, tata bangunan yang tidak teratur dan sebagainya. Perkembangan dan pertumbuhan kita jika tanpa rencana dan arahan akan menimbulkan persoalan-persoalan yang sulit untuk diselesaikan sehingga tercipta suatu ketidakseimbangan dalam pemanfaatan ruang kota. Untuk dapat mengoptimalkan perkembangan kota maka pemanfaatan ruang wilayah kota perlu diarahkan dalam rencana tata ruang kota yang terdiri dari struktur ruang dan pola ruang. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk menemukan struktur ruang yang ada pada Kecamatan Medan Johor. Kajian struktur ruang Kecamatan Medan Johor dianalisa berdasarkan unsur-unsur pembentuk struktur ruang, antara lain: Kependudukan, Pusat Pelayanan Kegiatan dan Jaringan Jalan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data baik primer maupun sekunder. Metode analisa yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu analisis deskriptif, analisis proyeksi bunga berganda dan analisis overlay peta. Hasil dari penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa struktur ruang pada Kecamatan Medan Johor memiliki konsep konsentris dengan pola perkembangan kota yang berada di tengah-tengah Kecamatan Medan Johor sebagai pusat kota. Dengan model struktur ruang dilihat berdasarkan pusat-pusat pelayanannya pada Kecamatan Medan Johor memiliki model struktur ruang multi nodal dimana terdiri dari satu pusat pelayanan dan beberapa sub pusat pelayanan yang saling terhubung satu sama lainnya.
