    Abstract
Background: Nasal polyp is a global health problem with increasing prevalence and can impact on the quality of life of sufferers. One of co-morbidities of nasal polyps is otitis media is very closely related to the hearing loss associated with middle ear. Objective: To know the relationship of nasal polyps with middle ear function based on tympanogram. Methods: This research was Cross-sectional study. The function of the middle ear can be determined with tympanometry. Analysis of the results of the Chi-square test. Results: It was found 21 samples with the number of males 81.0% with the highest age group is 30-39 years of age (43%). Most of nasal polyp stage was stage 1 as much as 45.2% with an overview of tympanogram type A. Stage 2 was found tympanogram type A and As respectively 11.9% and 14.3%. And stage 3 was found tympanogram type B and C respectively 14.3% and 4.8%. Chi-square test showed a significant difference between nasal polyp stage with the function of ventilation and drainage of the middle ear. Conclusion: The higher nasal polyp stage, the more likely malfunctioning ventilation and drainage of the middle ear. Keywords: nasal polyps, middle ear function, tympanogram
