    Pengaruh Lama Reaksi terhadap Perubahan Krakteristik Iodiesel Turunan Minyak Kacang Tanah dengan Menggunakan Katalis CaO dan Cosolvent Eter

    Abstract
    A research of effect time of transesterification has been done to yield biodiesel to the influence of reaction time in making peanut oil. Currently, the world has been facing energy crisis primarily from petroleum fuels or fossil fuel. On the other hand, the consumption of petroleum and fossil fuels give high impact to the environment, global warming. Vegetable oil is an alternative source of diesel fuels is processed through a transesterification reaction. In transesterification process, both peanut oil and methanol are inserted into the reactor with one molar oil with 12 molar methanol to accelerate the reaction CaO catalyst and cosolvent ether are given; then the mixture was heated at 650C with the treatment of an hour reaction time, two hours and three hours. The reaction resulting was FAME and glycerol as a by product. From the experiment found the 884.0 grams of peanut oil with one hour, FAME conversion of 47.95%, two hours FAME conversion of 57.29% while at three hours 58.10% conversion. The physical test results show the density values were in the range (0.85 – 0.87) while the standard for biodiesel gr/cm3 Indonesia (SNI) is in the range (0.85 – 0.89) g/cm3, the viscosity has range (3.86 – 5.97) cSt according to SNI were in the range (2.3 – 6) cSt, fog point is in the range (-6) – (11)0C, 180C according to SNI, water content is at range value (0.06 – 0.09)% by o.05% while the maximum download iodine number was in the range (50.83 – 55.54) g I2/100 gr. From the physical properties above show that peanut oil biodiesel can be used as an alternative fuel of diesel fuels.
     
    Suatu kajian telah dibuat terhadap pengaruh lama reaksi pembuatan biodiesel turunan minyak kacang tanah. Dunia saat ini telah mengalami krisis energi terutama dari bahan bakar minyak bumi maupun fosil. Selain itu pemakaian bahan bakar minyak bumi dan fosil memberikan kerugian pada lingkungan terutama pemanasan global. Minyak nabati salah satu sumber energi alternatif pengganti bahan bakar solar yang diproses melalui reaksi transesterifikasi. Pada proses transesterifikasi minyak kacang dan metanol dimasukkan kedalam reactor dengan perbandingaqn molar minyak dengan methanol adalah 1 : 12 untuk mempercepat reaksi diberi katalis CaO dan cosolvent eter kemudian dipanaskan pada suhu tetap 65oC dengan perlakuan lama reaksi 1 jam, 2 jam dan 3 jam. Asam lemak (trigliserida) berekasi dengan methanol menghasikan FAME dan gliserol sebagai produk samping. Hasil konversi dari 884,0 gr minyak kacang dengan lama reaksi 1 jam konversi FAME 47,95%, untuk lama reaksi 2 jam konversi FAME 57,29% sedangkan untuk reaksi 3 jam koversi 58,10%. Hasil uji fisis menunjukkan nilai densitas berada pada rentang (0,85 – 0,87) gr/cm3 sedangkan standart biodiesel Indonesia (SNI) berada pada rentang (0,85 – 0,89) gr//cm3, viskositas berada pada rentang (3,86 – 5,97) cSt menurut SNI berada pada rentang (2,3 - 6) cSt, titik kabut berada pada rentang (-6) – (11) oC menurut SNI 18oC, kadar air berada pada entang nilai (0,06 – 0,09)% menurut SNI maksimum 0,05% sedangkan bilangan iod berada pada rentang (50,83 – 55,54) gr I2//100gr menurut SNI 115 gr I2//100gr. Dari sifat-sifat fisis diatas menunjukkan biodiesel turunan minyak kacang tanah dapat digunakan sebagai bahan bakar alternatif pengganti solar..
