    Potensi Karbon Tersimpan pada Tegakan Pinus (Pinus merkusii) di Hutan Aek Nauli Kabupaten Simalungun Sumatera Utara

    Abstract
    Research Potential of Carbon Stored in pine stands (Pinus merkusii) held at Forest Aek Nauli Simalungun District in December 2010 to April 2011. Research sites is determined by using purposive sampling method. Methods used in data retrieval is Berpetak line method with the plots of 20 mx 20 m for trees and 10 mx 10 m for the pole number of plots 20. The area of pine forests typical of Aek Nauli forest with an area of 372.449 hectares of pine forests throughout the forest region Aek Nauli the extent of ± 1900 ha, so that the pine trees that dominate the vegetation in the forests of Aek Nauli. The results of stands of pine (Pinus merkusii) in the forest Aek Nauli obtained an average density of 389 pine trees / Ha with 24.69% crown cover and biomass obtained in pine stands is 687.28 tons / Ha, equivalent to the carbon at 316.15 tons C/Ha, so that the pine forests Aek Nauli which has an area 372.449 ha obtained the amount of carbon stored by 117749.75 tons.
     
    Penelitian Potensi Karbon Tersimpan pada Tegakan Pinus (Pinus merkusii) dilaksanakan di kawasan Hutan Aek Nauli Kabupaten Simalungun bulan Desember 2010 sampai April 2011. Lokasi penelitian ditentukan dengan menggunakan Metode Purposive Sampling. Dalam pengambilan data digunakan Metode Garis Berpetak dengan plot-plot 20 m x 20 m untuk pohon dan 10 m x 10 m untuk tiang sebanyak 20 plot. Areal hutan pinus menjadi ciri khas kawasan hutan Aek Nauli dengan luasan hutan pinus 372,449 Ha dari seluruh kawasan hutan Aek Nauli yang luasnya ±1900 Ha, sehingga pohon pinus menjadi tumbuhan yang mendominasi di kawasan hutan Aek Nauli. Hasil penelitian tegakan pinus (Pinus merkusii) di hutan Aek Nauli diperoleh rata-rata kerapatan pinus 389 pohon/Ha dengan penutupan tajuk 24,69 % dan Biomassa yang diperoleh pada tegakan pinus ini 687,28 ton/Ha atau setara dengan karbon sebesar 316,15 ton C/Ha, sehingga pada hutan pinus Aek Nauli yang memiliki luas 372,449 Ha didapat jumlah karbon tersimpan sebesar 117749,75 ton.
