    Abstract
    This thesis entitled “Translation Quality Assessment of Barry M‟s Product Descriptions on Sociolla” aimed to find out the translation quality of product descriptions of a cosmetic brand called “Barry M” on a beauty e-commerce called “Sociolla” that were translated from English into Indonesian. The writer used a TQA model proposed by Sofyan and Tarigan (2019) which focused on five aspects: accuracy, meaning equivalence, translation skill, text function, and grammar and style. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative with the collecting data method used is focus group discussion (FGD). Three professional translators were assigned as the raters to help in assessing the total 49 segments and 10 texts (English and Indonesian) as the data in this research. The findings showed that the translation quality of Barry M‟s product descriptions on Sociolla is at a medium level with the total percentage of 66.7% from a scale of 0-100%, accuracy reached 20% from a maximum percentage of 30%, meaning equivalence reached 14.9% from a maximum percentage of 25%, translation skill reached 13.6% from a maximum percentage of 20%, text function reached 11% from a maximum percentage of 15%, and grammar and style reached 7.2% from a maximum percentage of 10%.
     
    Skripsi ini berjudul “Translation Quality Assessment of Barry M's Product Descriptions on Sociolla” bertujuan untuk menemukan kualitas terjemahan dari deskripsi produk sebuah brand kosmetik bernama “Barry M” pada sebuah e-commerce kecantikan bernama “Sociolla” yang diterjemahkan dari Bahasa Inggris ke Bahasa Indonesia. Peneliti menggunakan model TQA milik Sofyan dan Tarigan (2019) yang berfokus pada lima aspek: keakuratan, penemuan padanan makna, keterampilan menerjemah, fungsi teks, serta tata bahasa dan gaya penulisan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Tiga penerjemah profesional ditugaskan sebagai penilai untuk membantu menilai total 49 segmen dan 10 teks (Inggris dan Indonesia), yang merupakan data dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas terjemahan deskripsi produk Barry M di Sociolla berada pada level medium dengan total persentase 66,7% dari skala 0-100%, aspek keakuratan mencapai 20% dari persentase maksimal 30%, penemuan padanan makna mencapai 14,9% dari persentase maksimum 25%, keterampilan menerjemah mencapai 13,6% dari persentase maksimum 20%, fungsi teks mencapai 11% dari persentase maksimum 15%, dan tata bahasa dan gaya penulisan mencapai 7,2% dari persentase maksimum 10% .
