    Aktivitas Antimikroba Ekstrak Umbi Lokio (Allium Schoenoprasum l.) terhadap Bakteri Escherichia Coli, Staphylococcus Aureus, Shigella Dysenteriae, dan Lactobacillus Acidophilus

    Abstract
    Many types of plants in Indonesia allegedly has potential as an antimicrobial, but has not been utilized optimally. Chives (Allium schoenoprasum L.) is one of plants that has been used as an effective antimicrobia. This research aims to know the antimicrobial activity of extracts of chive bulbs. The extraction is done by means of maceration using water solvents, methanol and etilasetat. The bacteria Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Shigella dysenteriae and Lactobacillus acidophilus are used to examine whether the extract of chives (Allium schoenoprasum. L) has an antimicrobial activity. Diffusion disc assay was used with completely randomized design (2 factor and 5 times of repetition). The results showed that the extract of tuber chive with a concentration of 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% have an effect to inhibit againts Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Shigella dysenteriae, while bacteria Lactobacillus acidophilus, there did not show a zone of inhibition. Etilasetat extract has the most antimicrobial activity againts diameter of the inhibition zones on each bacteria tested.
     
    Banyak sekali jenis tanaman Indonesia yang diduga memiliki potensi sebagai antimikroba, tetapi belum termanfaatkan secara optimal. Lokio (Allium schoenoprasum L.) salah satu jenis tanaman yang berkhasiat yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai antimikroba. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antimikroba ekstrak umbi lokio. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut air, metanol dan etilasetat. Bakteri uji yang digunakan adalah Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Shigella dysenteriae dan Lactobacillus acidophilus. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah difusi cakram dengan rancangan acak lengkap (2 faktor dan 5 ulangan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak umbi lokio dengan konsentrasi 20%, 40%, 60% dan 80% memiliki pengaruh terhadap daya hambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Shigella dysenteriae, sedangkan bakteri Lactobacillus acidophilus, tidak menunjukkan adanya zona penghambatan. Ekstrak etilasetat mempunyai aktivitas paling besar terhadap diameter zona penghambatan pada masing-masing bakteri uji.
