The Translation Techniques Analysis of Lion Air Indonesia’s Flight Attendant Announcement
Abstract
This thesis is entitled “The Translation Technique Analysis of Lion Air Indonesia’s Flight Attendant Announcement”. The objectives of this research are to find out the techniques used by the translator to translate Lion Air Indonesia’s Flight Attendant Announcement, to find out the dominant techniques used by the translator in Lion Air Indonesia’s Flight Attendant Announcement and to find out the Indonesian expression in the texts that are not equivalent to English expression. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The data of this research is collected from the data source, the Lion Air Flight Attendant Announcement Book. The researcher used Molina and Albir’s theory in analyzing the data. In data analysis this research used data analysis techniques by Miles and Huberman (1984). As the result of this research, the most dominant techniques used in translated Lion Air Flight Attendant Announcement Book is literal translation with 21 occurrences (30,43%) followed by equivalence with 11 occurrences (15,94%), amplification with 10 occurrences (14,49%), reduction with 10 occurrences (14,49%), modulation with 6 occurrences (8,69%), generalization with 6 occurrences (8,69%), borrowing with 4 occurrences (5,79%), compensation with 1 occurrence (1,44%) and transposition with 1 occurrence (1,44%).
