    Karakterisasi dan Pembuatan Keramik Sio2 Dengan Campuran Caco3 sebagai Filter Gas Buang Kendaraan

    Abstract
    This research to find alternatives to help solve global warming and reduce vehicle exhaust emissions with SiO2 ceramic filter with a mixture of CaCO3. Composition of the ceramic material used is Clay much as 50% of each sample, SiO2 50%, 45%, 40%, 35%, 30% and CaCO3 as much as 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%. Characteristics of porous ceramics that have been in the Loss of mass test ranged from 18,73 to 30,06%, fuel shrinkage obtained ranged from 4,40 to 2,21%, the measured density of the samples ranged from 1,12 x 103 Kg/m3 to 1,31 x 103 Kg/m3, large porosity between 56,29 to 30,59% and the Big permeability measured samples ranged from 58,84 to 323,62 Pa, compressive strength from 4,13 to 4,71 MPa, a strong impact from 0,58 x104 J/m2 to 1,17 x104 J/m2, violence from 155,60 to 171,60 MPa. For the absorption of vehicle exhaust emissions to the magnitude of the absorption of CO2 gas ranged from 16.,0 to 25,09%, the absorption of CO from 16,22 to 60,58%, HC absorption from 4,06 to 5,08 ppm and the absorption of NOx 25 – 50 ppm. This vehicle exhaust filter was found to produce O2 gas by 14.94 to 56.10% with a porous ceramic samples is the best there is the first and the second samples of the produce O2 gas by 56.10%, so that the production of O2 gas which is derived of these vehicles means that can reduce air pollution in the environment caused by motor vehicle exhaust gas diesel.
     
    Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang karakterisasi dan pembuatan keramik SiO2 dengan campuran CaCO3 (batu kapur) sebagai filter gas buang kendaraan. Komposisi bahan keramik yang di gunakan adalah Clay sebanyak 50% setiap sampel, SiO2 (silika) sebanyak 50%, 45%, 40%, 35%, 30% dan CaCO3 sebanyak 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%. Karakteristik keramik berpori yang telah di uji yaitu susut massa berkisar antara 18,73 – 30,06 %, susut bakar yang diperoleh berkisar antara 4,40 – 2,21 %, Densitas sampel yang diukur berkisar antara 1,12 x 103 Kg/m3 – 1,31 x 103 Kg/m3, besar porositas antara 56,29 – 30,59 % dan Besar Permeabilitas sampel yang di ukur berkisar antara 58,84 – 323,62 Pa, kuat tekan 4,13 – 4,71 Mpa, kuat impak 0,58 x104 J/m2 – 1,17 x104 J/m2, kekerasan 155,60 – 171,60 MPa. Untuk absorbsi emisi gas buang kendaraan besarnya daya absorbsi terhadap gas CO2 berkisar antara 16,90 – 25,09 %, absorbsi CO 16,22 – 60,58 %, absorbsi HC 4,06 – 5,08 ppm dan absorbsi NOX 25 – 50 ppm dan Filter gas buang kendaraan ini ternyata dapat memproduksi gas O2 sebesar 14,94 – 56,10 % dengan sampel keramik berpori yang paling bagus terdapat pada sampel satu dan dua yaitu memproduksi gas O2 sebesar 56,10 %, sehingga dengan produksi gas O2 yang di hasilkan dari kendaraan ini berarti dapat mengurangi polusi udara di lingkungan yang diakibatkan oleh gas buang kendaraan bermotor berbahan bakar solar.
