dc.description.abstractA research has been conducted on the utilization of fly ash and clam shells waste as cement substitute materials and concrete waste as a substitute for sand in the manufacture of concrete bricks. The purpose of the research is the utilization of fly ash, clam shells and concrete waste in manufacturing concrete bricks of good quality, economical and environmentally friendly. Cement substitution materials variations are from 0% to 25% with every 2.5% increase the ratio of fly ash with clam shells as cement substitute 1: 1 and 2: 1. Variations of concrete waste as a substitute for sand covering are 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Dimensions of test samples made in two forms, i.e. cylinder and blocks with w / c = 4.7. Curing time of concrete is 28 days in the laboratory. Measurement and testing of concrete samples include: density, porosity, water absorption, compressive strength, bending strength, and impact strength. From the measurement, all samples showed that the value of bricks with a density is ranging from 1760 to 2110 kg/m3 and includes medium concrete brick. Minimum of porosity and water absorption is achieved by concrete brick sample with 25% replacement of sand and concrete waste materials with 20% cement substitution. The maximum water absorption of samples is 18.30%. In compressive strength test, the optimum value is achieved by the sample with 25% of concrete waste and 20% cement substitution material (fly ash: clam shell = 1:1) amounted to 23.2 MPa. The value of bending strength and impact strength achieved a maximum at 25% until the variation of concrete waste and cement substitution materials 20% (fly ash: clam shell = 2:1). The concrete bricks produced the quality type I based on SNI and B2 according to PUBI category.en_US
dc.description.abstractTelah dilakukan penelitian tentang pemanfaatan limbah abu terbang (Fly Ash) batu bara dan kulit kerang sebagai bahan substitusi semen serta limbah beton sebagai pengganti pasir dalam pembuatan bata beton (batako). Tujuan penelitian adalah pemanfaatan limbah abu terbang batubara, kulit kerang dan limbah beton dalam pembuatan bata beton yang berkualitas baik, ekonomis, dan ramah lingkungan. Variasi bahan substitusi semen dari 0% hingga 25% dengan kenaikan setiap 2,5% dengan perbandingan abu terbang batu bara dengan kulit kerang sebagai substitutif semen 1 : 1 dan 2 : 1. Variasi limbah beton sebagai pengganti pasir meliputi 25%, 50%, 75% dan 100%. Dimensi sampel uji dibuat dalam dua bentuk, yaitu silinder pejal dan balok dengan nilai FAS = 4,7. Waktu pematangan beton selama 28 hari di ruang laboratorium. Pengukuran dan pengujian sampel beton meliputi : densitas, porositas,serapan air, kuat tekan, kuat patah dan kuat pukul. Dari hasil pengukuran seluruh sampel batako terlihat bahwa nilai densitasnya berkisar antara 1760 – 2110 Kg/m3 dan termasuk bata beton sedang. Porositas dan serapan air minimum dicapai oleh sampel bata beton dengan 25% limbah beton pengganti pasir dan bahan subsitusi semen 20%. Serapan air maksimum 18,30%. Pada uji tekan nilai optimum dicapai oleh sampel dengan 25% limbah beton dan bahan substitusi semen 20% (fly ash : kulit kerang = 1:1) sebesar 23,2 MPa. Nilai uji patah dan pukul maksimum dicapai sampai pada variasi 25% limbah beton dan bahan substitusi 20% (fly ash : kulit kerang = 2:1). Bata beton uji yang dihasilkan termasuk tipe mutu I berdasarkan SNI dan kategori B2 menurut PUBI.en_US
