    Pembuatan Paving Block dengan Menggunakan Limbah Abu Boiler PKS Gunung Bayu sebagai Bahan Pengisi dengan Perekat Alternatif Limbah Fly Ash PLTU Sibolga

    Abstract
    There are two steps of paving block making in this research, first is the mixture of materials cements, fly ash, sand, and water. The variable of this paving block making is the composition of fly ash: 0% : 100% ; 10% : 90%; 20% : 80%; 30% : 70%; 40% : 60%; 50% : 50%. From the characteristics, we get can get two optimum value they are; cement : fly ash = 80% : 20% and 70% : 30%. The next step of the mixture is materials cements, fly ash, sand, boiler ash, and water. The variable of the paving block making is composition of boiler ash toward weight of sand: 2,5%; 5%; 7,5%; 10%; 12,5%. With cements components : fly ash = 80% : 20% and 70% : 30%. This second step shows the paving block making research and the optimum characteristics to the cements composition 80%, fly ash 20%, boiler ash 7,5% from the weight gained from the measurement : density = 2,11 gr/cm3 ; water absorption = 5,32%; compressive strength = 8,35 MPa; flexural strength = 3,0 MPa; hardness = 116 HB. After the test of the boiler ash has been done it is known that the optimum composition for the mixture of cement 70%, fly ash 30%, boiler ash 5% from the weight of sand we can get the measurement : density =2,05 gr/cm3 ; water absorption=7,94%; compressive strength = 8,78 MPa; flexural strength = 3,25 MPa ; hardness = 118 HB. The type of typed paving block M-D is used for the park, according to SNI – 3 – 0691 – 1996 type M-D for parks hold the compressive strength 8,5 MPa – 10 MPa. The result of the research with the optical Microsoft, it is clear that the pieces of boiler ash has the bluish color, and the pieces of fly ash has the color of brownish and both of the pieces look bigger. After the sample is soaked with water, this means if the sample is soaked with water the strength on it will be less strong.
     
    Pembuatan Paving Block dalam penelitian ini ada dua tahapan , tahapan pertama campurannya dari material semen, fly ash, pasir, dan air. Vareabel pada pembuatan paving block ini adalah komposisi fly ash : semen : 0% : 100%; 10% : 90%; 20% : 80%; 30% : 70%; 40% : 60%; 50% : 50%. Dari karakteristiknya diambil dua nilai optimumnya yaitu; semen : fly ash = 80% : 20% dan 70% : 30%. Tahapan kedua campurannya dari material semen, fly ash, pasir, abu boiler, dan air. Vareabel pada pembuatan paving block ini adalah komposisi abu boiler terhadap berat pasir yaitu : 2,5%; 5%; 7,5%; 10%; 12,5%.dengan komponen semen : fly ash = 80% : 20% dan 70% :30%. Tahapan kedua inilah pembuatan paving block yang diteliti dan didapat karakteristik optimumnya pada komposisi semen 80%, fly ash 20%, abu boiler 7,5% dari berat pasir diperoleh hasil pengukuran : densitas = 2,11 gr/cm3; serapan air = 5,32%; kuat tekan = 8,35 MPa; kuat patah = 3,0 MPa; kekerasan = 116 HB. Serta dari hasil pengujian abu boiler sebagai subsitusi pasir diperoleh komposisi optimum untuk campuran semen 70%, fly ash 30%, abu boiler 5% dari berat pasir diperoleh hasil pengukuran : densitas = 2,05 gr/cm; serapan air = 7,94%; kuat tekan = 8,78 MPa; kuat patah = 3,25 MPa; kekerasan = 118 HB. Type Paving Block bertype M-D digunakan untuk taman, menurut SNI – 3 – 0691 – 1996 type M-D untuk taman dengan kuat tekan 8,5 MPa – 10 MPa. Hasil pengamatan dengan menggunakan mikroskop optik terlihat jelas butiran abu boiler berwarna kebiruan dan butiran fly ash berwarna kecoklatan dan kedua butiran tersebut terlihat semakin membesar setelah sampel direndam dengan air, yang berarti bila sampel direndam dengan air kekuatannya makin berkurang.
