Hubungan Kadar Gamma Glutamyltransferase dan Kecepatan Hantaran Saraf pada Penderita Neuropati Diabetik
Abstract
Background : Diabetic neuropathy is one of the common complication of diabetes
mellitus (DM). The pathophysiology of diabetic neuropathy includes several factors such
as metabolic, vascular, oxidative stress and neurohormonal growth factor deficiency and
recent studies have suggested the use of serum gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) as an
early marker of oxidative stress.
Methods : We assessed 24 patient with diabetic neuropathy were diagnosed by
anamnesa, physical examination and neurological examination including nerve
conduction velocities. We evaluated the association between serum GGt and nerve
conduction velocities.
Results: A total of 14 women and 10 men were studied; mean age was 57,48 ±
9,41years, mean duration of diabetes was 8,39 ± 3,702 years, mean GGT was 39,17 ±
14,73 UI/L, mean motoric NCV was 39,07 ± 9,45 m/s and mean sensoric NCV was 33,30
± 8,66 m/s.
Conclusion : This study show that levels of serum GGT have inverse correlation with
motoric and sensoric nerve conduction velocities. Latarbelakang : Neuropati diabetik merupakan salah satu komplikasi yang sering dari
Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Patofisiologi dari neuropati diabetik terdiri dari beberapa faktor
yaitu metabolik, vaskular, stres oksidatif dan neurohormonal growth factor dan studi
terbaru menduga serum gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) sebagai marker awal stres
oksidatif.
Metode : Kami memeriksa 24 penderita neuropati diabetik yang didiagnosa berdasrkan
anamnesa, pemeriksaan fisik dan pemeriksaan neurologi serta memeriksa kecepatan
hantran saraf. Kami mengevaluasi hubungan kadar GGT dengan kecepatan hantaran
saraf.
Hasil : dari total 14 wanita dan 10 pria ditemukan; rerata usia 57,48 ± 9,41 tahun, rerata
lama menderita diabetes 8,39 ± 3,702 tahun, rerata kadar GGT 39,17 ± 14,73 UI/L, rerata
nilai KHS motorik 39,07 ± 9,45 m/s dan rerata nilai KHS sensorik 33,30 ± 8,66 m/s.
Kesimpulan : Studi ini menunjukkan kadar GGT mempunyai korelasi negative dengan
KHS sensorik dan motorik.
