    Abstract
    Analysis and design on light steel column of C (Canal) section in this paper is based on the results of experiments conducted by Sreedhar Kalavagunta and his colleagues in the journal Experimental Study of Axially Compressed Cold Formed Steel Channel Columns, Indian Journal of Science and Technology, 2013. The experiment using two kind of C (Canal) section types, C100.10 and C75.12 types with varying length of 700 mm, 600 mm and 500 mm. At the experiment on the C100.10 that had local buckling while C75.12 section had flexural torsional buckling. The experimental results are then compared with calculations based on the rules AS/NZS and numerical simulation with finite element method and using Lusas program. From the calculation for the section C100.10 seen that the critical load for the finite element method calculation is greater than the code AS / NZS and the results of experiments in which the largest comparative results of the finite element method (FEM) to the experimental results and the 1.108 results is the finite element method to the standard / code is 1.056. For the calculation of the section C75.12 seen that the critical load for the finite element method is greater than the results of experiments and calculations with the code AS/NZS where the largest comparative results of the finite element method (FEM) to the experimental results is 1.094 and results for the finite element method to the standard / code is 1.043.
     
    Analisis dan perencanaan pada kolom baja ringan penampang C (Canal) pada tulisan ini dilakukan berdasarkan hasil percobaan yang dilakukan oleh Sreedhar Kalavagunta dan kawan-kawan dalam jurnal Experimental Study of Axially Compressed Cold Formed Steel Channel Columns, Indian Journal of Science and Technology, 2013. Pada percobaan tersebut diambil penampang C (Canal) sebanyak 2 (dua) jenis yaitu C100.10 dan C75.12 dengan panjang bervariasi sebesar 700 mm, 600 mm dan 500 mm. Pada percobaan tersebut penampang C100.10 mengalami tekuk lokal sedangkan pada penampang C75.12 mengalami tekuk flexural torsional. Hasil percobaan ini kemudian dibandingkan dengan hasil perhitungan dengan peraturan AS/NZS dan simulasi numerik dengan metode elemen hingga yang menggunakan program Lusas. Untuk penampang C100.10 terlihat bahwa beban kritis untuk hasil metode elemen hingga lebih besar dibandingkan hasil perhitungan dengan peraturan AS/NZS maupun hasil percobaan dimana perbandingan terbesar hasil metode elemen hingga terhadap hasil percobaan adalah 1.108 dan hasil metode elemen hingga terhadap hasil peraturan AS/NZS adalah 1.056. Untuk penampang C75.12 terlihat bahwa beban kritis untuk hasil metode elemen hingga lebih besar dibandingkan hasil percobaan maupun hasil perhitungan dengan peraturan AS/NZS dimana perbandingan terbesar hasil metode elemen hingga terhadap hasil percobaan adalah 1.094 dan hasil metode elemen hingga terhadap hasil peraturan AS/NZS adalah 1.043.
