    Abstract
Pulmonary tuberculosis is still a disease that concern in the world due to its high incidence, especially in developing countries, including Indonesia. Many factors are associated with susceptibility to tuberculosis, one of which is genetic. Polymorphism +874 T / A interferon-gamma is one of host genetic factor that has been widely studied and has been shown to be associated with susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis. Aim.This study aims to determine the association polymorphism +874 T/A interferon-gamma gene with susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis in Medan population. Methods. A total 82 pulmonary tuberculosis patients and 85 healthy controls were examined in this case control study. SPSS 25 is used to process and analyze all data where the Pearson chi square is used to analyze the association between genotype and susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis. Result. The polymorphism +874 T/A interferon-gamma gene was not significantly associated with susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis in patients compared to controls (p=0.395) and there was no association between allele frequency and susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis (p = 0.158). Conclusion. Our study suggest no association of polymorphism iv +874 T/A interferon gamma gene with pulmonary tuberculosis in Medan, Indonesia

Latar Belakang.
