    Hubungan Ekspresi Biofilm Bakteri dengan Kultur Bakteri dan Analisis Uji Kepekaan Antibiotik pada Penderita Rinosinusitis Kronis

    Abstract
    Background: Microorganism had important role in causing chronic rhinosinusitis, whether antibiotics are the primary treatment. Detailed microbiologic data is required in management of rhinosinusitis. Purpose: This study purpose is to see the bacterical biofilm expresion and the type of bacteria and also antibiotic with high sensitivity in chronic rhinosinusitis patients. Methods: This is a cross sectional study at several hospital in North Sumatera. Result: Total 32 patients. There are 21 positive biofilm (65,6%). Most prevalent bacteria are gram positive, Staphylococcus epidermidis, where Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic with highest sensitivity both on gram positive and gram negative bacteria. Ciprofloxacin is also an antibiotic with highest sensitivity for the biofilm positif patients. Conclusion: Microbiologic data is indispensible for treatment of rhinosinusitis comprehensively, especially for the selection of empiric antibiotic before the culture result released.
     
    Latar belakang: Mikroorganisme memiliki peranan penting dalam menyebabkan rinosinusitis kronis, sehingga antibiotik merupakan terapi primer. Data mikrobiologi yang terperinci diperlukan dalam penatalaksanaan rinosinusitis. Tujuan: Penelitian dilakukan untuk melihat ekspresi biofilm bakteri dan jenis bakteri serta pilihan antibiotik pada rinosinusitas kronis. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan metode potong lintang yang dilakukan di beberapa rumah sakit di Sumatera Utara. Hasil: Total didapati 32 pasien. Biofilm positif dijumpai pada 21 orang (65,6%). Bakteri yang paling banyak dijumpai adalah bakteri gram positif yaitu Staphylococcus epidermidis, dimana Ciprofloxacin merupakan antibiotik dengan sensitifitas tertinggi baik pada bakteri gram positif, maupun gram negatif. Pada penderita dengan biofilm positif, Ciprofloxacin juga menjadi antibiotik dengan sensitifitas tertinggi. Kesimpulan: Data mikrobiologi sangat diperlukan untuk penatalaksanaan rinosinusitis secara komprehensif, terutama untuk pilihan antibiotik empiris sebelum diperoleh hasil kultur.
