    Abstract
    Characterization studies have been conducted Particle Board mixture of polyester resin and silica with Fiber Trunk kecombrang. This study aims to determine the addition of fiber rods in kecombrang as matrix resins and silica poliyester that produced. From the results of research based on both physical and mechanical test showed that filling fiber rods kecombrang combined with polyester resin and silica with the following comparison: 70:30:0, 70:25:5, 70:20:10, 70:15:15 , 70:10:20, 70:5:25, RP: SI: SBK can qualify as particle board in accordance with the Indonesian National standard (SNI). value density from 0.71 to 1.245 g / cm3, 0.892 to 24.776 Water Content Value %, Development thickness from 0.888 to 1.342%, from 35.868 to 109.368 Mpa. Bending strength value, 241.626 to 890.171 Mpa elasticity, Strong Impact 0.321 to 1.59 J/cm2. This sample can recommended as particle board.
     
    Telah dilakukan penelitian Karakterisasi Papan Partikel campuran Resin polyester dan silica dengan Serat Batang Kecombrang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penambahan serat batang kecombrang sebagai matriks dala resin poliyester dan silica yang di hasilkan. Dari hasil penelitian berdasarkan uji baik fisis maupun mekanik menunjukkan bahwa pengisian serat batang kecombrang yang digabung dengan resin polyester dan silica dengan perbandingan sebagai berikut : 70:30:0,70:25:5, 70:20:10, 70:15:15, 70:10:20, 70:5:25, RP:SI:SBK dapat memenuhi syarat sebagai papan partikel sesuai dengan standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI).Nilai Kerapatan 0,71-1,245 gr/ cm3, Nilai Kadar Air 0,892- 24,776%, Pengembangan Tebal 0,888-1,342%, Nilai Kuat Lentur 35,868-109,368 MPa, Elastisitas 241,626-890,171 MPa, Kuat Impak 0,321-1,59 J/cm2. Sampel ini dapat di rekomendasikan sebagai papan Partikel.
