    Abstract
The research has been done making particle board from bagasse fiber as filler by using polyester resin adhesive as a binder. Particle board is compressed with a pressure of 69 bar (6,9 x 103 kPa) at temperature of 50o C for 20 minutes. Stages of research starts from the preparation of bagasse fiber (short fibers with a size ≤ 1 cm), mixing fibers with the polyester, and making of particle board, to the test. This research used a mixture ratio % polyester : fiber bagasse 30:70, 40:60, 50:50, 60:40 and 70:30. Test conducted to determine the physical and mechanical properties of this particle board, were the density, moisture content, Thickness Swelling, Modulus of Rupture (MOR), modulus of elasticity (MOE), internal adhesive strength, and strong impact. The results indicated that the density values was obtained from 0.77 to 0.91 gr/cm3 , moisture content value is obtained from 0.67 to 1.29%, the Thickness Swelling 3.96 to 11.96 %, the value of fracture strength (MOR) obtained from 154.56 to 447.39 kgf/cm2 , elastic modulus (MOE) 7630.51 to 17334.19 kgf/cm2 , strong value impact is obtained from 1.76 to 3.88 J/cm2 , and strong value of the internal adhesive is 7.53 to 30.19 kgf/cm2 . In general, particle board Polyester: bagasse fiber meets the standards of SNI 03-2105 - 2006.
