Analisis Kualitas Terjemahan Subtitle Film The Mermaid

Abstract

The title of this researchis “AnAnalysis Translation Quality of The SubtitleofThe MermaidFilm.”The research is aimed at describing and analyzing translation quality of the subtitle of The Mermaid film from Mandarin into Bahasa Indonesia based on three aspects of translation quality namely accuracy, acceptability, and readability. The data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The data arelinguistic unitsin the form of words, phrases and sentences.Based on the analysis conducted on 228 data using an assessment score ranging from 1to 3, the findings show that the average score for the accuracy aspect is 2,51, acceptability aspect at 2.63 and readability aspect at 2.73. The result then classifies that the translation quality of the subtitle of The Mermaid film, under three main aspectsof measurement such as accuracy, acceptability, and readability hasa high quality level. It can be concluded that the translation quality of The Mermaid film subtitle is less accurate, acceptable, and readable.
