The Moral Value in Antoine De Saint-Exupéry’s Novel The Little Prince

Abstract

A paper with the title “The Moral Value in Antoine De Saint-Exupéry’s Novel The Little Prince” is describing about the moral values in the novel, the values that we believe as rightness, obligation, beauty, virtue, and truth that can we see from the good or bad view because moral is an ability to judge something true and false from all human behavior and the other creatures. There also purposes from this paper, they are to learn the moral values in the novel The Little Prince and also to know the impacts for human life that reflected from the main characters of the novel. During the process of writing this paper, the writer uses library method with collecting books that related to the topic as the references. In the chapter 1, the writer describes the background, problem of study, scope of study, objective and method of study. Chapter 2 contains about the description of literature, moral and value. Chapter 3 contains about the moral values of the novel and also the impacts that reflected from the main character. Chapter 4 contains about the conclusion and suggestion of the paper.

Karya tulis yang berjudul “The Moral Value in Antoine De Saint-Exupéry’s Novel The Little Prince” ini menguraikan tentang nilai moral yang terdapat dalam novel tersebut, nilai-nilai yang kita anggap sebagai kebenaran, kewajiban, keindahan, kebaikan, dan kenyataan yang dapat dilihat dari sisi baik dan buruknya karena moral adalah suatu kemampuan untuk menilai apa yang dianggap benar dan salah dari segala sikap manusia dan makhluk hidup lainnya. Adapun tujuan dari karya tulis ini yaitu untuk mempelajari nilai-nilai moral yang terdapat dalam novel The Little Prince serta mengetahui dampaknya bagi kehidupan manusia yang tercerminkan dari tokoh utama di dalam novel ini. Dalam proses penulisan, penulis menggunakan metode kepustakaan dengan mengumpulkan buku-buku yang berhubungan dengan topik tulisan sebagai bahan referensi. Pada bab 1, penulis menguraikan latar belakang, masalah penulisan, batasan masalah, manfaat serta metode penulisan. Bab 2 berisi tentang penjelasan mengenai karya sastra, nilai dan moral. Bab 3 berisi mengenai nilai-nilai moral yang terdapat di dalam novel serta dampaknya yang tergambarkan melalui tokoh utama. Bab 4 berisi kesimpulan dan saran dari karya tulis ini.
