    Abstract
Back ground :Metabolic syndrome has two fold of diabetes and five fold a head risk of cardiovascular disease in 5-10 years. The cause of metabolic syndrome is still not known for sure, but it is suspected that the pathophysiology of metabolic syndrome is associated with insulin resistancy and central obesity. Aim :To study about the association between insulin resistency and lipid profile ratio using HOMA-IR in Metabolic Syndrome Pateints. Methods : This is a cross sectional study that was conducted in inpatient and out patient RSUP. H.Adam Malik during Maret 2016 - April 2016. Patients with Metabolic Syndrome criteria IDF 2005.All samples were examined for their waist circumference, weight, height, blood pressure, Insulin, serum glucose , total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Triglyserida. Result :Of the 66 sample in the study 40 (60.6%) were male and 26 (39.4%) female . In this Study , there is a significant correlation between HOMA-IR with CT/HDL ratio (r : 0.244 p <0.05); and there is a correlation between HOMA IR and TG/HDL ratio eventhough it is no significant (r : 0.120 p >0.05) and there is no correlation between HOMA-IR and LDL/HDL (p > 0.05) . Conclusion :There is a significant relationships between insulin resistency and ratio CT/HDL

Penderita Sindroma Metabolik kriteria IDF 2005. Dilakukan pemeriksaan lingkar pinggang, berat badan, tinggi badan, tekanan darah, insulin, gula darah, total kolesterol, kolesterol HDL, kolesterol LDL, Trigliserida.
