    Pendugaan Cadangan Karbon di atas Permukaan Tanah Rawa Gambut di Stasiun Penelitian Suaq balimbing Kabupaten Aceh Selatan Propinsi Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam

    Abstract
    The assesment of carbon emission, whether caused by deforestation and forest degradation is one of the important way to decrease climate change. This research aimed to asses the amount of carbon in Kluet Swamp forest Suaq Balimbing station research and provide information about forest carbon reserve. The method used to calculate carbon was ’allometric biomass’(Katering 2001 cited in Hairiah 2007) because this is a simple model accommodating a variety of variables. The result of this research showed that the highest biomass and carbon on the survace of the trees, humus and plant was 1220.59 C ton/ha and the lowest was 285.63 C ton/ha
     
    Pendugaan emisi karbon hutan, baik yang diakibatkan oleh deforestasi dan degradasi hutan, merupakan salah satu upaya penting dalam mengurangi perubahan iklim. Upaya ini mensyaratkan informasi tentang cadangan karbon hutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk penaksiran besarnya kandungan karbon hutan rawa Kluet stasiun penelitian Suaq Balimbing. Metode perhitungan karbon menggunakan model alometrik Biomasa (Kettering, 2001 dalam Hairiah 2007) karena model ini sangat sederhana serta mengakomodasi variabel yang lebih banyak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa biomassa dan karbon di atas permukaan tanah pada bagian pohon, serasah dan tumbuhan bawah paling tinggi adalah 1220,59 C ton/ha dan paling rendah adalah 285,63 C ton/ha.
