Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Ekonomi Kota Medan

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of development expenditure, locally generated revenue, investment and number of manpower on the economy of the City of Medan substituted with the GDP of the city of Medan within the period of 1989 -2008. This study used the coherent data of 1989 -2008 which were analyzed through “Ordinary Least Square (OLS)” regression analysis method. The result of this study showed that development expenditure, locally generated revenue, investment and number of manpower had a positive on the economy of the City of Medan. As an attempt to increase the growth of the City of Medan, a policy encouraging the interest of regional investment is needed. Eventually, the role of local government through the development expenditure that can stimulate and encourage the increase of investment variable is expected to be able to increase local economic activity to achieve economic growth and to increase the community’s income per capita.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh belanja pembangunan, pendapatan asli daerah, investasi dan jumlah tenaga kerja terhadap ekonomi Kota Medan yang diproxy dengan PDRB Kota Medan selama kurun waktu 1989-2008. Penelitian ini menggunakan data runtut waktu tahun 1989-2008 dan menggunakan analisa regresi “Ordinary Least Square” (OLS). Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa belanja pembangunan, pendapatan asli daerah, investasi dan tenaga kerja memberi pengaruh positif terhadap ekonomi Kota Medan. Sebagai upaya meningkatkan pertumbuhan Kota Medan maka diperlukan kebijakan mendorong minat berinvestasi di daerah. Pada akhirnya peran pemerintah daerah melalui belanja pembangunan yang dapat merangsang peningkatan variabel investasi diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kegiatan ekonomi daerah guna tercapainya pertumbuhan ekonomi dan peningkatan pendapatan perkapita masyarakat.
