    Analisis Coulomb Stress Gempa Bumi Halmahera Barat MW=7,2 terhadap Aktivitas Vulkanik Gunung Soputan dan Gunung Gamalama

    Abstract
    West Halmahera is the meeting place of three plates, namely the Indo-Australian plate, the Eurasian plate, and the Pasific plate. The location of the West Halmahera is located in the thress plates, so the Western Halmahera potentially earthquake-prone areas. Some events increased activity of Mount Soputan and Mount Gamalama preceded by a massive earthquake. This research was conducted in the BMKG Region I Medan. This research uses Coulomb Stress Model. Coulomb Stress Model was used to view the distribution area increasing and decreasing the stress in the area of West Halmahera. Data such as the earthquake magnitude, earthquake depth, and focal mechanism required as input models. The data obtained from BMKG, Global CMT, and PVMBG. Data are analyzed and the result is an increase in the coulomb stress distribution at Mount Soputan 0.023 bar and in mountain Gamalama increase coulomb stress of 0,007 bar. This stress followed by increased volcanic activity of the mountain Soputan and Mount Gamalama with freatic eruption type
     
    Halmahera Barat merupakan tempat pertemuan tiga lempeng utama yaitu lempeng Indo-Australia, lempeng Eurasia, dan lempeng Pasifik. Letak Halmahera Barat di antara ketiga lempeng, sehingga Halmahera Barat berpotensi daerah rawan gempa. Beberapa peristiwa peningkatan aktivitas gunung Soputan dan gunung gamalama didahului oleh gempa besar. Penelitian ini dilakukan di BMKG wilayah I Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Model Coulomb Stress. Model Coulomb Stress ini digunakan untuk melihat daerah penyebaran dari peningkatan dan penurunan tegangan di daerah Halmahera Barat. Data gempa seperti magnitudo, kedalaman gempa, dan focal mechanism diperlukan sebagai input model. Data tersebut diperoleh dari BMKG, Global CMT, dan PVMBG. Data tersebut dianalisis dan hasilnya berupa penyebaran dari peningkatan coulomb stress di gunung Soputan sebesar 0,023 bar dan di daerah gunung Gamalama mengalami peningkatan coulomb stress sebesar 0,007 bar. Perubahan coulomb stress ini diikuti peningkatan aktivitas vulkanik gunung Soputan dan gunung Gamalama dengan tipe letusan freatik.
