Interpersonal Function Analysis in Bangtan Boys (BTS)’ Speech at Unga 2020

Interpersonal function is crucial for establishing the relationship between the speaker
and the listeners to persuade them to accept and understand their message. This study
aims to investigate the interpersonal function in BANGTAN BOYS (BTS)' speech.
This study used qualitative method. The data in this study were the clauses contained
in the speech read by BTS at the 75th UNGA on September 23rd, 2020. The result of
the study showed the mood types found are Declarative mood (92,30%), Imperative
mood (6,59%), and Interrogative mood (1,09%). The Interpersonal function in BTS'
speech at UNGA is realized through Mood structures that consist of Mood and
Residue elements. In the Mood elements, there are Subject (49,72%), Finite
(44,80%), and Mood Adjunct (5,46%). While in Residue elements, there are
Predicator (40,78%), Complement (41,89%), and Circumstantial Adjunct (17,31%).
Keywords : Fungsi interpersonal sangat penting untuk membangun hubungan antara pembicara
dan pendengar untuk membujuk pendengar untuk menerima dan memahami pesan
pembicara.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui fungsi interpersonal dalam
pidato BANGTAN BOYS (BTS). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data
dalam penelitian ini adalah klausa-klausa yang terdapat dalam pidato yang
dibacakan BTS pada UNGA ke-75 tanggal 23 September 2020. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan jenis mood yang ditemukan adalah Declarative mood
(92,30%,Imperative mood (6,59%), dan Interrogative mood (1,09%). Fungsi
Interpersonal dalam pidato BTS di UNGA diwujudkan melalui struktur Mood yang
terdiri dari elemen Mood dan Residue. Pada elemen Mood terdapat Subject
(49,72%), Finite (44,80%), dan Mood Adjunct (5,46%). Sedangkan pada unsur
Residu terdapat Predicator (40,78%), Complement (41,89%), dan Circumstantial
Adjunct (17,31%).
