    Kompatibilitas dan Keefektifan Antioksidan Turunan Fenol Terhalang dalam Matriks Polipropilena Hasil Daur Ulang

    Abstract
    In this research 3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxy benzoic acid-i-epoxy natural rubber (grafted-antioxidant; A-1), antioxidant 3,5-di-tert-butyl-4hydroxy benzoic acid (A-2) and antioxidant 2,6-di-tert-4-methyl phenol (A-3) has been blended with recycled polipropylene matrix, than the blends was made to films form. The microscopic analysis of the surface of specimens showed that the blend of 5 % (w/w) antioxidant in recycled polipropylene for grafted-antioxidant (A-1) and antioxidant (A-3) were more compatible than that of antioxidant (A-2). Extraction and FT-IR analysis showed that only the grafted-antioxidant (A-1) could be bound to recycled polypropylene as much as 21.9 %. Diffusion and FT-IR analysis which based on OH group showed that the diffusion of the grafted-antioxidant (A-1) was 33.8 %, antioxidant (A-2) was 4.8 % and antioxidant (A-3) 27.7 % after 75 days. Thermal degradation analysis showed that the brittle time of the grafted-antioxidant (A-1), antioxidant (A-2), antioxidant (A-3) and recycled polypropylene without antioxidant were 4, 18, 27 and 16 hours, respectively. This result showed that the effectiveness of grafted-antioxidant (A-1) to stabilization of thermal degradation of recycled polypropylene was the lowest compared to antioxidant (A-2) and antioxidant (A-3). The surface microscopic analysis also showed that all of films were cracked after heating at 1400C.
     
    Dalam penelitian ini telah dilakukan pencampuran 3,5-ditert- butil-4-hidroksi asam benzoat- epoksi karet alam (antioksidanterikat; A-1), antioksidan 3,5-di-tert-butil-4-hidroksi asam benzoat (A-2) dan antioksidan 2,6-di-tert-butil-4-metil fenol (A-3) dalam matriks polipropilena hasil daur ulang, kemudian campuran dibuat dalam bentuk film. Analisis mikroskopis permukaan spesimen menunjukkan bahwa campuran 5 % (w/w) antioksidan dalam polipropilena hasil daur ulang untuk antioksidan-terikat (A-1) dan antioksidan (A-3) lebih kompatibel daripada antioksidan (A-2). Uji ekstraksi dan analisis FT-IR menunjukkan hanya antioksidan-terikat (A-1) yang dapat terikat dalam polipropilena hasil daur ulang sebesar 21,9 %. Uji difusi dan analisa FT-IR yang berdasarkan gugus OH setelah 75 hari menunjukkan bahwa difusi dari antioksidan-terikat (A-1) 33,8 %, antioksidan (A-2) 4,8 % dan antioksidan (A-3) 27,7 %. Uji degradasi termal menunjukkan bahwa waktu getas dari antioksidan-terikat (A-1), antioksidan (A-2), antioksidan (A-3) dan polipropilena hasil daur ulang tanpa antioksidan, masing-masing adalah 4, 18, 27 dan 16 jam. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa keefektifan antioksidanterikat (A-1) terhadap stabilisasi degradasi termal dari polipropilena hasil daur ulang adalah paling rendah dibandingkan antioksidan (A-2) dan antioksidan (A-3). Analisis mikroskopis permukaan juga menunjukkan bahwa semua film retak setelah pemanasan pada suhu 1400C.
