    Pengaruh Kegiatan Menulis Ekspresif Terhadap Penurunan Stres Akademik Mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Sumatera Utara di Masa Pandemi Covid-19

    Abstract
    Stress experienced by students is generally caused by the burden of lectures and tasks that must be done by students, stress that occurs due to the educational environment is academic stress. The stress experienced by students can affect learning outcomes. Reducing the impact of student stress in online lectures is done by writing. Catharsis in expressive writing has a very significant effect on academic stress on students. When individuals begin to write, they will feel relaxed, the brain will release endorphins produced from the pituitary gland and the human central nervous system, which are useful for controlling pain and causing pleasure which can reduce academic stress. The results of this study show that there is no effect of expressive writing activities on reducing academic stress for students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of North Sumatra during the Covid-19 pandemic. The implication of this research is to increase understanding of the effect of expressive writing activities on academic stress in students.
     
    Stres yang dialami mahasiswa umumnya disebabkan oleh beban perkuliahan dan tugas yang harus dikerjakan mahasiswa, stres yang terjadi akibat lingkungan pendidikan adalah stress akademik. Stres yang dialami mahasiswa dapat berpengaruh terhadap hasil pembelajaran. Mengurangi dampak stres mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan daring dilakukan dengan menulis. Katarsis dalam menulis ekspresif memiliki pengaruh yang sangat signifikan terhadap stress akademik pada mahasiswa. Saat individu mulai menulis maka akan merasa rileks, otak akan mengeluarkan hormon endorfin yang diproduksi dari kelenjar pituari dan sistem saraf pusat manusia, yang berguna untuk mengontrol rasa sakit dan menimbulkan rasa senang yang dapat mengurangi stres akademik. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan tidak terdapat pengaruh kegiatan menulis ekspresif terhadap penurunan stres akademik mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Sumatera Utara di masa pandemic Covid-19. Implikasi dari penelitian ini ialah meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai pengaruh kegiatan menulis ekspresif terhadap stres akademik pada mahasiswa.
