    Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the types of speech errors, the frequency of errors, the dominant error, and the causes of speech errors that made by Taylor Swift during the interview with ELLEN the show. The type of this research is qualitative. The data of this research is the utterances, while the source of data is a video between Ellen and Taylor Swift which downloaded from The Ellen Show with a duration of 18 minutes and 45 seconds. The researcher finds nine types of speech errors based on the theory of Clark and Clark. There are 60 speech errors uttered by Taylor Swift with the frequencies as follows: silent pause (12 or 20%), repeats and corrections (11 or 18.33%), interjections (9 or 15%), slips of the tongue (5 or 8.34%), filled pause and false start {retraced} (4 or 6.67%), False start (unterraced) and stutters (2 or 3.33%). There are 2 causes: cognitive difficulty or social factors like anxiety, nervous or social circumstances (this is caused by the occasional lack of concentration while the speakers say, and their concentration being hampered by the surrounding environment)
