    Morfofisiologi Rumput Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides L. Nash) pada Beberapa Cekaman Kadar Air Tanah

    Abstract
    Penelitian tentang morfofisiologi rumput vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides L. Nash) pada beberapa cekaman kadar air tanah telah dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2020 sampai dengan Oktober 2020 di Laboratorium Fisiologi Tumbuhan dan Kultur Jaringan Tumbuhan FMIPA USU Medan, Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis morfofisiologi rumput vetiver pada beberapa tingkat cekaman kadar air tanah. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas lima taraf cekaman air tanah yaitu 25% Kapasitas Lapang (KL), 50% (KL), 75% (KL), 100% (KL), 125% (KL). Kapasitas Lapang tanah yang dicampur kompos yang ditentukan dengan metode gravimetri menghasilkan kapasitas lapang sebesar 65%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cekaman kadar air tanah berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah individu per-rumpun, kandungan klorofil b, laju pertumbuhan relatif empat minggu setelah perlakuan (MSP) sampai dengan lima MSP dan laju pertumbuhan relatif enam MSP sampai dengan tujuh MSP. Cekaman kadar air tanah tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, panjang akar, laju pertumbuhan relatif satu MSP sampai dengan dua MSP, dua MSP sampai dengan tiga MSP, tiga MSP sampai dengan 4 MSP, tujuh MSP sampai dengan delapan MSP, berat kering akar, berat kering tajuk, rasio akar dan tajuk, efisiensi penggunaan air (EPA), kandungan klorofil a dan kandungan klorofil total. Peningkatan respon ditunjukkan oleh beberapa variabel pada Kapasitas Lapang dibawah 100% (kontrol) yaitu berat kering akar sebesar 175% pada KL 25%, tinggi tanaman meningkat 154,3% dan laju pertumbuhan relatif meningkat 308,2% pada KL 50%. Peningkatan respon juga ditunjukkan variabel efisensi penggunaan air sebesar 175 pada KL 75%.
     
    The study on morphophysiological adaptation of vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioidesL.) under groundwater deficit stress has been conducted from July 2020 to October 2020 at the Laboratory of Plant Physiology and Plant Tissue Culture, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan, North Sumatra. The aim of this study was to analyze the expressed phenotypics of vetiver under groundwater stress. The study used a completely randomized design composed of 5 levels of groundwater deficit in the form of field capacity i.e. 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% and 125%. Field capacity was adjusted by mixing soils with compost using gravimetric method to obtain an initial of 65% capacity. The results showed that groundwater deficit stress gave significant effects to the number of individuals per clump, chlorophyll b content, and relative growth rate at 4 – 5 weeks and 6 – 7 weeks after treatment. The stress gave no significant effects to other parameters i.e. plant height, root length, relative growth rate 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 weeks after treatment, root biomass, shoot biomass, root-shoot ratio, water use efficiency, chlorophyll a content and total chlorophyll. Elevated responses were witnessed under treatment of 100% (control) namely root biomass at 175% under 25% field capacity, plant height elevated for 154.3% and increased relative growth rate at 308.2% under 50% field capacity, and water use efficiency at 175% under 75% field capacity.
