    Abstract

This research was conducted to study the composition of soil macrofauna at soil surface in palm oil plantation area containing liquid waste palm oil mill. Sampling points were conducted using purposive sampling and soil macrofauna were collected using pitfall trap method. The results found that macrofauna at the soil surface consisted of 5 classes, 12 orders, 32 families, 52 genera and 55 species. Total density of soil macrofauna in control area (Block I) was higher than that the area Long bed (Block II) and Flatbed (Block III) wastewater systems that were applied. Frequency of attendance at control area and area with Long bed system applied with liquid waste (Block II) was relatively similar to Absolute constants, Constants, Accessories and Accidental the attendance frequency in areas with Flat bed system liquid waste application (Block III) were Absolute, Constant and accidental. Four species of soil macrofauna with KR (≥10%) and FK (≥25%) were known as bioindicators such as Lasioderma serricorne, Oecophylla longinoida, Odontoponera transversa and Xenogryllus marmoratus. The highest species composition at Control, Long bed and Flat bed areas was dominated by Oecophylla longinoida.
