    Abstract
    This thesis entitled „Improving Learners' English Vocabulary Through Singing in a Group‟. This thesis analyzes the mastery and improvement of English vocabulary in kindergarten students aged 5-6 years old at TK Al-Amin, Medan Deli in the academic year 2018/2019 through singing in a group method. It was a field research involving 22 students at Aisyah Class as the object of the research. The data used in this research were the English vocabularies obtained from the pre-test and the post-test. The vocabularies tested were taken from the songs taught to the students. The results of this study indicated that there is an improvement on the students‟ English vocabulary mastery after the implementation of the singing in a group method for two weeks. It can be seen from the result of the post-test which is higher than the pre-test. It can be concluded that singing in a group can help to improve the students‟ mastery in learning English vocabulary.
     
    Skripsi ini berjudul ‘Improving Learners’ English Vocabulary Through Singing in a Group’. Skripsi ini menganalisa penguasaan dan peningkatan kosakata bahasa Inggris pada siswa Taman Kanak-kanak (TK) yang berumur 5-6 tahun di TK Al-Amin, Medan Deli tahun ajaran 2018/2019 melalui metode bernyanyi di dalam grup. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan yang melibatkan 22 orang siswa di Kelas Aisyah sebagai objek dari penelitian. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah kosakata yang diperoleh oleh para siswa melalui pre-test dan post-test. Kosakata yang diujikan diambil dari lagu-lagu yang diajarkan kepada siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pada penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris dari para siswa setelah penerapan metode menyanyi di dalam kelompok selama dua minggu. Ini dapat dilihat dari hasil post-test yang lebih tinggi dari pre-test. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa menyanyi dalam kelompok dapat membantu meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris para siswa.
