    Efek Antibakteri Kombinasi Ekstrak Etanol Daun Kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam.) dan Amoksisilin terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli secara In Vitro

    Abstract
    Background: Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli are bacteria that often infect humans and are at risk of causing resistance to antibiotics including amoxicillin. This encourages the importance of efforts to find alternative active ingredients including from plants, one of which is Moringa (Moringa oleifera). Objective: To evaluate the antibacterial activity of the combination of Moringa leaf ethanol extract (KDK) and amoxicillin (KA) against S. aureus and E. coli. in vitro. Methods: research True experimental with post test control group design. KDK is obtained by maceration. There are 4 concentrations of KDK test materials (20,30,40,50 %) and 1 concentration of KA (3 mg/ml). The test method was agar disc diffusion with 3 replications and the parameter measured was the diameter of the disc inhibition zone. Data were analyzed by Oneway Anova and further Tukey'stest. Result: The diameter of the inhibition zone of the combination of KDK and KA against S. aureus (20.77 ± 1.79 – 21.33 ± 1.74 mm) was larger than that of KDK (11.45 ± 0.21 – 12.45 ± 0). .28 mm) and KA (14.50 ± 0.42 mm) single. The diameter of the combined inhibition zone of KDK and KA against E. coli (15.53 ± 0.71 – 17.87 ± 0.42 mm) was larger than that of KDK (9.00 ± 0.28 – 10.30 ± 0.42 mm) and KA (13.45 ± 0.35 mm). There was a significant difference (p<0.05) between the combination group (KDK + KA) and the single group (KDK or KA). Conclusion: The combination of the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves and amoxicillin produce a synergistic effect as an antibacterial against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in vitro.
     
    Latar Belakang : Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli adalah bakteri yang sering menginfeksi manusia dan beresiko mengakibatkan resistensi terhadap antibiotik termasuk amoksisilin. Hal ini mendorong pentingnya upaya menemukan bahan aktif alternatif termasuk dari tanaman, salah satunya adalah kelor (Moringa oleifera). Tujuan: Mengevaluasi aktivitas antibakteri kombinasi ekstrak etanol daun kelor (KDK) dan amoksisilin (KA) terhadap S. aureus dan E. coli. secara in vitro. Metode dan Cara : Penelitian true experimental dengan rancangan post test control group design. KDK diperoleh dengan cara maserasi. Bahan uji KDK ada 4 konsentrasi (20,30,40,50 %) dan KA 1 konsentrasi (3 mg/ml). Metode uji dengan difusi cakram agar dengan 3 ulangan dan parameter yang diukur berupa diameter zona hambat cakram. Data dianalisis dengan Oneway Anova dan uji lanjut Tukey. Hasil Penelitian: Diameter zona hambat kombinasi KDK dan KA terhadap S. aureus (20,77 ± 1,79 – 21,33 ± 1,74 mm) lebih besar dibanding KDK (11, 45 ± 0,21 – 12,45 ± 0,28 mm) dan KA (14,50 ± 0,42 mm) tunggal. Diameter zona hambat kombinasi KDK dan KA terhadap E. coli (15,53 ± 0,71 – 17,87 ± 0,42 mm) lebih besar dibanding KDK (9,00 ± 0,28 – 10,30 ± 0,42 mm) dan KA (13,45 ± 0,35 mm). Terdapat perbedaan bermakna (p<0.05) antara kelompok kombinasi (KDK + KA) dengan kelompok tunggal (KDK atau KA). Kesimpulan : Kombinasi ekstrak etanol daun kelor dan amoksisilin menghasilkan efek sinergisme sebagai antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli secara in vitro.
