    Pembuatan dan Karakterisasi Aspal Modifikasi Polimer Berbasis Karet Alam Cair dengan Menggunakan Metode Wet Mixing

    Abstract
    Polymer modified asphalt based on liquid natural rubber has been successfully prepared through wet mixing technique with 2 types of variables, namely the amount of liquid natural rubber and the mixing time between the two. The results showed that the addition of 4 grams of liquid natural rubber to asphalt pen 60-70 with a mixing time of 90 minutes showed optimum physical characteristics when compared to pure asphalt and samples containing 2 and 6 grams of liquid natural rubber with a mixing time of under 90 minutes. The surface morphology of the modified asphalt liquid natural rubber experienced a significant change from the shape and structure of the asphalt mixture granules as a result of the addition of liquid natural rubber. The molecular bond of the asphalt mixture does not significantly change the main chemical bonds that form the asphalt mixture, but there is only a change in the chemical bond at low wavelengths. Based on the analysis of the rheological properties of asphalt, it can be concluded that the addition of liquid natural rubber and an increase in the mixing time between asphalt and liquid natural rubber causes an increase in shear resistance and a change in the intrinsic properties of modified asphalt from viscous (liquid-like material) to more elastic (solid-like material).
     
    Aspal modifikasi polimer berbasis karet alam cair telah berhasil dipreparasi melalui teknik pencampuran basah dengan 2 jenis variabel yaitu jumlah karet alam cair dan waktu pencampuran antara keduanya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, penambahan 4 gram karet alam cair pada aspal pen 60-70 dengan waktu pencampuran selama 90 menit menunjukkan karakteristik fisika yang optimum bila dibandingkan dengan aspal murni dan sampel yang mengandung 2 dan 6 gram karet alam cair dengan waktu pencampuran dibawah 90 menit. Morfologi permukaan aspal modifikasi karet alam cair mmengalami perubahan yang signifikan dari bentuk dan struktur butiran campuran aspal akibat dari penambahan karet alam cair. Ikatan molekul campuran aspal tidak secara signifikan mengalami perubahan ikatan kimia utama yang membentuk campuran aspal, melainkan hanya terdapat perubahan ikatan kimia pada panjang gelombang yang rendah. Berdasarkan analisa sifat reologi aspal, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan karet alam cair dan peningkatan waktu pencampuran antara aspal dengan karet alam cair menyebabkan terjadinya peningkatan ketahanan geser dan perubahan sifat intrinsik aspal modifikasi dari bersifat viskos (liquid-like materal) menjadi lebih bersifat elastis (solid-like material).
