dc.description.abstractResearch of the rates of leaf litter productivity and decomposition of Homalanthus populneus (Geiseler) Pax. & Macaranga hypoleuca (Reichb.f. & Zoll.) in Deleng Macik, Taman Hutan Raya Bukit Barisan Kabupaten Karo Sumatera Utara was conducted from June to November 2016. The aims of the study were to determine the rates of leaf litter productivity and decomposition of Homalanthus populneus and Macaranga hypoleuca. The measuring of productivity has been done in 3 months using a nylon litter-trap measuring 1x1 m as much as 5 litter traps for each species. The decomposition was measuring using a nylon litter-bag and took as much as 30 litter bags each species. The result showed that the highest rate of leaf litter productivity and decomposition was Homalanthus populneus with decomposition as much as 24,60%/month and Macaranga hypoleuca was 15,05%/month.en_US
dc.description.abstractPenelitian tentang laju produktivitas dan dekomposisi serasah daun Homalanthus populneus (Geiseler) dan Macaranga hypoleuca (Reichb.f. & Zoll.) di Deleng Macik, Taman Hutan Raya Bukit Barisan Kabupaten Karo Sumatera Utara telah dilaksanakan dari bulan Juni sampai November 2016. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui laju produktivitas dan dekomposisi serasah daun Homalanthus populneus dan Macaranga hypoleuca. Pengukuran laju produktivitas menggunakan jaring berukuran 1x1 m sebanyak 5 buah per jenis yang di ikat dibawah tegakan selama 3 bulan. Pengukuran laju dekomposisi menggunakan kantung berbahan nilon berukuran 12x26 cm dan diperlukan sebanyak 30 kantung per jenis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa laju produktivitas dan dekomposisi serasah daun Homalanthus populneus lebih tinggi daripada Macaranga hypoleuca setiap bulannya dengan laju dekomposisi masing-masing jenis sebesar 24,60%/bulan dan 15,05%/bulanen_US
