    Kecernaan Bahan Kering dan Bahan Organik Ransum yang Mengandung Pod Kakao Fermentasi dengan “MOIYL” pada Domba Lokal Jantan

    Abstract
    To develop ruminant livestock populations in Indonesia it is no longer possible to rely on grass feed. The potential of alternative feed sources for ruminants is huge, especially the source of fiber feed derived from by-products of the agricultural and plantation industries such as the cocoa pod. The research was conducted at Pak Didit's farm Jl. Bunga Rinte, Simpang Selayang, Medan, and the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Ingredients science Studies Programs, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara in October - December 2018 using completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The experiment used 20 of male local sheep weaning with initial body weight of 12.65 ± 1 kg. The treatment such as P0 (80% field grass + 20% concentrate), P1 (60% field grass + 20% fermented cocoa pod + 20% concentrate), P2 (40% field grass + 40% fermented cocoa pod + 20% concentrate), P3 (20% field grass + 60% fermented cocoa pod + 20% concentrate), P4 (80% fermented cocoa pod + concentrate 20%). Parameters measured were consumption of dry matter and organic matter, digestibility of dry matter and organic matter. The results showed that the utilization of fermented cocoa pods with MOIYL in the ration had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on the digestibility value of dry matter (%):69.56; 70.63; 74.97; 70.77 and 67.19, and gives a very significant effect (P <0.01) on the digestibility value of organic matter (%):70.04; 70.93; 75.23; 71.11 dan 67.65. The conclusion of this research is the use of fermented cocoa pods using MOIYL to the level of 40% can improve the digestibility of dry matter and organic material of male local sheep.
     
    Untuk mengembangkan populasi ternak ruminansia di indonesia tidak mungkin lagi jika mengandalkan pakan rumput. Potensi sumber pakan alternatif untuk ruminansia sangat besar, khususnya sumber pakan serat yang berasal dari produk samping industri pertanian dan perkebunan seperti pod kakao. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan mengetahui kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik pod kakao yang difermentasi dengan MOIYL dalam ransum pada domba lokal jantan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di peternakan Pak Didit Jl. Bunga Rinte, Simpang Selayang, Medan dan di Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi dan Bahan Pakan Ternak program Studi Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara pada bulan Oktober - Desember 2018 menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan 20 ekor domba lokal jantan dengan rataan bobot badan awal 12.65 ± 1 kg. Perlakuan yang diberikan terdiri atas P0 (80% rumput lapang + konsentrat 20%), P1 (60% rumput lapang + 20% pod kakao fermentasi + 20% konsentrat), P2 (40% rumput lapang + 40% pod kakao fermentasi + 20% konsentrat), P3 (20% rumput lapang + 60% pod kakao fermentasi + 20% konsentrat), P4 (80% pod kakao fermentasi + konsentrat 20%). Parameter yang diamati adalah konsumsi bahan kering, konsumsi bahan organik, kecernaan bahan kering dan kecernaan bahan organik Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan pod kakao fermentasi dengan MOIYL dalam ransum memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap nilai kecernaan bahan kering (%): 69.56; 70.63; 74.97; 70.77 dan 67.19, dan memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap nilai kecernaan bahan organik (%): 70.04; 70.93; 75.23; 71.11 dan 67.65. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan pod kakao fermentasi menggunakan MOIYL sampai level 40% dapat meningkatkan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik domba lokal jantan.
