    Abstract
To find out the fingerprint pattern of the Sundanese ethnicity in medical professional education program students at Malahayati University who are undergoing stasi at a hospital in the city of Medan in 2021. Methods: This research is a descriptive analytic study with total sampling. Student fingerprints are taken by placing the tips of the fingers on the stamp pads that have been given ink, then affixed to white paper to form fingerprints. This is done for all students. From the fingerprints obtained, direct observations were made on the fingerprint pattern (loop pattern, arch pattern, and whorl pattern). Then the percentage of each respondent is calculated based on gender and type of fingerprint pattern. Results: Getting the percentage of the number of respondents by gender: 27 men (84.4%), women 5 people (15.6%). The frequency of Whorl pattern fingerprints for men is 12 people (37.5%) and women are smaller, namely 1 person (3.1%) with a total number of respondents who have Whorl fingerprints as many as 13 people or 40.6 %. The frequency of Loop pattern fingerprints was more in males as many as 15 people (46.9%) than women as many as 4 people (13.04%) with a total number of Loop pattern fingerprints as many as 19 people (59.4%). Conclusion: The fingerprint patterns of the Sundanese ethnicity students of the Medical Professional Education Program at Malahayati University who are undergoing stasi in a hospital in Medan city in 2021 are Whorl as much as 40.6% and Loop as much as 59.4%. Based on gender, it was found that the frequency of fingerprints in males was more in the Loop pattern 46.9%.
