    Analisis Penjadualan pada Transmisi Video Kanal Downlink Wimax

    Abstract
    Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) is Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) technology which has high access acceleration with wide range of multimedia access. Multimedia transmission quality is influenced by bandwidth and by the number of packages received by subscriber station (SS). One of the methods to increase the reliability of multimedia transmission through WiMAX is by arranging the needed bandwidth and implementing scheduling algorithm. Meanwhile, coding technique is needed to increase the quality of received packages. This thesis evaluates the result of the combination of scheduling and coding technique of rateless codes in order to maximize the performance of video transmission in WiMAX downlink module canal by using NS-2 Network simulator. By applying frame-based scheduling, combined with rateless codes and comparing it with Round-Robin, First-In-First-Out (FIFO), Frame Based, and Earliest Deadline First (EDF) scheduling, it was found that the values of PSNR rateless codes of 50% (FB + RC = 100%) with bit rate of 992.44 were 32.06 and the highest value of rateless codes of 100% (FB = RC 100%) with bit rate of 992.44 values was 34.42. By adding rateless codes of 50% and rateless codes of 100% in frame-based scheduling, it was found that PSNR value becomes bigger, and the bigger the value of bit rate is, the bigger the value of PSNR.
     
    Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) merupakan teknologi Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) yang memiliki kecepatan akses yang tinggi dengan jangkauan yang luas untuk akses multimedia. Kualitas transmisi multimedia dipengaruhi pengaturan bandwidth serta jumlah paket yang diterima oleh subscriber station (SS). Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kehandalan transmisi multimedia melalui WiMAX adalah dengan melakukan pengaturan bandwidth yang dibutuhkan yakni dengan mengimplementasikan algoritma penjadualan. Sementara untuk meningkatkan kualitas paket yang diterima, diperlukan teknik pengkodean. Tesis ini mengevaluasi hasil kombinasi teknik penjadwalan dan pengkodean rateless codes untuk memaksimalkan kinerja transmisi video pada kanal downlink modul WiMAX dengan menggunakan simulator jaringan NS-2. Dengan menerapkan teknik penjadualan frame based yang dikombinasikan dengan rateless codes dan membandingkan dengan penjadualan Round-Robin, First-In-First-Out (FIFO), Frame Based dan Earliest Deadline First (EDF), diperoleh nilai PSNR rateless codess 50% (FB + RC 50%) dengan bit rate 992,44, yakni sebesar 32,06. Dan rateless codess 100% (FB + RC 100%) dengan bit rate 992,44, yakni sebesar 34,42 yang merupakan nilai tertinggi. Dari hasil pengujian yang dilakukan dengan penambahan rateless codess 50% dan rateless codes 100% pada penjadualan frame based maka nilai PSNR semakin besar, serta semakin besar nilai bit rate maka nilai PSNR juga semakin besar.
