Penentuan Kadar Air dan Kadar Asam Lemak Bebas dalam Crude Palm Oil (Cpo) di Pt Pp London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk

Abstract

The quality of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is very important to be able to determine its further use. Several parameters can be determined to determine the quality, in this study the levels of free fatty acids (ALB) and air content contained in CPO have been carried out. This research was conducted at PT PP London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of ALB and water content in CPO. Analysis of ALB levels was carried out by alkalimetric titration method using 0.1 N KOH standard solution and 1% phenolphthalein indicator and air content determined by oven method. From several samples analyzed, ALB levels were 2.84% - 3.27% and based on SNI ALB standards at 3% CPO. The water content obtained is 0.1033% - 0.2529% and based on the SNI standard the water content in CPO is 0.20%. Thus, based on the results of the analysis of levels, the levels of ALB and air in the CPO samples did not meet the SNI standard.

Kualitas Crude Palm Oil (CPO) merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting untuk dapat menentukan penggunaannya lebih lanjut. Beberapa parameter dapat ditentukan untuk menentukan kualitasnya, dalam penelitian ini telah dilakukan penentuan kadar asam lemak bebas (ALB) dan kadar air yang terkandung pada CPO. Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT PP London Sumatera Indonesia Tbk. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan kadar ALB dan kadar air dalam CPO. Analisis kadar ALB dilakukan dengan metode titrasi alkalimetri menggunakan larutan standar KOH 0,1 N dan indikator phenolfthalein 1 % dan kadar air ditentukan dengan metode oven. Dari beberapa sampel yang dianalisis diperoleh kadar ALB sebesar 2.84% - 3. 27% dan berdasarkan standar SNI kadar ALB pada CPO ≤3%. Kadar air diperoleh sebesar 0.1033% - 0.2529% dan berdasarkan standar SNI kadar air pada CPO ≤ 0,20%. Dengan demikian berdasarkan hasil analisis yang diperoleh maka kadar ALB dan kadar air pada sampel CPO ada yang belum memenuhi standard SNI.
