    Abstract
Deforestation and habitat destructions have been threatened the life of Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii). To prevent the extinction of orangutans, conservation strategies need to be implemented, one of which is ex-situ conservation at the Central Park Zoo and Resort Pancur Batu. This study aims to determine the daily behaviors of male Sumatran orangutan using a closed cage management system at the Central Park Zoo and Resort. This research was conducted for 14 days on December using focal animal sampling and data recording methods The results of the research showed the percentage of the overall frequency of the daily behavior of male orangutans, name as „Topan‟, such as resting behavior (35.7%), followed by moving behavior (31.81%), eating (13.69%) and playing behavior (11.23%.). The least performed was social behavior (4.63%), agonistic behavior (2.15%) and pooping behavior (0.76%). It can be analyzed that the management of male orangutans at the Central Park Zoo and Resort already had a fairly good and regular system, all from the cage system, feed system and health care.
