In general, the maintenance of silkworms use baking paper, but the baking paper has some weaknesses such as the limitations of raw materials and the cost which is quite expensive. The study of the differences in the mats maintenance was to see the effects on the nutritional index and productivity of silkworms (Bombyx mori L.) in the IV and V instars. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments, 5 replications and each treatment contained 125 larvae. The treatments were using baking papers taro leaves (Colocasia esculenta L.) and the banana leaves (Musa paradisiaca L.). The effects of the different mats were seen based on the nutritional index and productivity of silkworms. The results of the research showed the nutritional index and productivity of silkworms had no effect at all (p>0.05). The highest percentage of normal cocoons was found in taro leaf beds (84%) and the lowest was in banana leaves (72%). The highest percentage of defective cocoons was found in banana leaf bases (28%) and the lowest was found in taro leaves (16%). The bottom of the rearing container can be replaced with taro leaves because the percentage of normal cocoons was highest and the percentage of defective cocoons was lowest on the leave. Pada umumnya pemeliharaan ulat sutera menggunakan baking paper, namun baking paper memiliki kelemahan yaitu, keterbatasan bahan baku dan biayanya yang cukup mahal. Penelitian perbedaan alas pemeliharaan untuk melihat pengaruh terhadap indeks nutrisi dan produktifitas ulat sutera (Bombyx mori L.) pada instar IV dan V. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan, 5 ulangan dan setiap perlakuan terdapat 125 larva. Perlakuan menggunakan alas pemeliharaan baking paper, daun talas (Colocasia esculenta L.) dan daun pisang (Musa paradisiaca L.). Pengaruh alas yang berbeda dilihat berdasarkan indeks nutrisi dan produktifitas ulat sutera. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan indeks nutrisi dan produktifitas ulat sutera tidak berpengaruh (p>0,05). Presentase jumlah kokon normal tertinggi terdapat pada alas daun talas (84%) dan yang terendah pada daun pisang (72%). Presentase jumlah kokon cacat tertinggi terdapat pada alas daun pisang (28%) dan yang terendah terdapat pada daun talas (16%). Alas wadah pemeliharaan dapat digantikan dengan daun talas karena presentase jumlah kokon normal lebih tinggi dan presentase jumlah kokon cacat lebih rendah.
