The Description of Figure of Speech From Twice Selected Songs

Abstract

This paper describes the use of figure of speech used in the English version of TWICE's song chosen by the author. The purpose of this paper is to find figure of speech in TWICE's chosen song and describe the dominant figure of speech in TWICE's chosen song. The author uses a qualitative descriptive research method. In the results of describing the 6 selected English versions of TWICE's songs, there are 7 figures of speech found, namely Metaphor, Hyperbole, Pleonasm, Exclamation, Irony, Oxymoron, and Simile. From the seven-figure of speech found, the writer finds that the Metaphor is a figure of speech that is often used in the songs.

Kertas Karya ini mendeskripsikan tentang penggunaan majas yang digunakan dalam lagu TWICE versi Bahasa Inggris yang dipilih oleh penulis. Tujuan dari kertas karya ini adalah untuk menemukan majas pada lagu pilihan TWICE dan mendeskripsikan majas yang dominan pada lagu pilihan TWICE. Penulis menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari mendeskripsikan 6 lagu TWICE versi bahasa inggris yang dipilih, terdapat 7 majas yang ditemukan yakni Metafora, Hiperbola, Pleonasme, Seruan, Ironi, Oxymoron, dan Simile. Dari ketujuh majas yang ditemukan, penulis menemukan bahwa Metafora adalah majas yang sering digunakan dalam lagu-lagu tersebut.
