Introduction: Trauma can occur in one or more parts of the body. Trauma that occurs in at least 2 parts of the body with a fairly high degree of severity (ISS > 16) is called multiple trauma. Multiple trauma or often called polytrauma is a condition in which there are 2 or more physical injuries in certain regions or organs, where one of these injuries results in death or has an impact on physical, cognitive, psychological or psychosocial disorders and functional disabilities.
Methods: The type of research used in this study is a descriptive study. The approach used in the design of this study is a retrospective approach where the data taken are data that have been there before. This research data comes from medical record data obtained from the Haji Adam Malik Central General Hospital, Medan from January 2019 to December 2019.
Results: The mortality rate in this case was 24.8%. The duration of out-of-hospital due to multiple trauma based on the time of incident and death was 6.4+4.9 (0.5-24) hours, while going home was 4.9+4.5 (0.5-24) hours. Response Time Duration of respondents who died was 15.36+6.74 (1.20-24.55) minutes and returning home was 14.28+7.35 (1.17-24.49) minutes. The ISS score on the Mortality Rate due to Multiple Trauma was found to be 64+10 (42-75) in the dead category and 18+10 (8-52) in the discharge category.
Discussions: Mortality Rate due to Multiple Trauma in First Hits and death was found to be in 74.1%), while Second Hits and death were in 25.9%. In trauma, death can occur due to the trauma itself and the effects of the trauma itself which causes systemic inflammation that causes hypoxia, hypovolemic shock to sepsis.
