Abstract

This study is a qualitative study to analyze the framing of the news in online Media. News becomes the object of research is polygamy news published in two online media, Waspada online and Medan.Tribunnews,com. News analyzed consists of 4 (four) news is presented online media. The theories used in this research is the theory of social construction Berger and Luckman and theories Framing. The technique of data analysis using a model framing Robert Entmant with four approaches, namely the definition, description, evaluation and recommendation in adiscourse to emphasize certain frameworks of the events that discourse by the media. The study concluded that online vigilant media raise this issue as a private matter. While Medan.Tribunnews.com raise this issue as a social problem and in a narrow sense related to religion. Another purpose of this study was to determine how the process of editorial reporting. Another result of the study mengemukakan that the managing editor is the dominant factor in the process of reporting.
