Sibolga is one of the areas located on the west coast of Sumatra. The main potential of the economy comes from fisheries, tourism, services, trade and maritime industry. The high level of fishing activity in Sibolga can be seen from the existence of the Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara (PPN) and Tangkahan which is able to accommodate fishermen's catches which are then marketed to meet local, foreign and even export fisheries needs. This study aims to determine the abundance and diversity of the abundance and diversity of pelagic fish (Scombridae) in the Tapanuli waters which landed at the Sibolga Archipelago Fisheries Port (PPN). The research method used was purposive sampling with a sample of 150 pelagic fish landed at PPN Sibolga. The data analysis technique used is the analysis of Relative Abundance (KR), Diversity Index (H'), Uniformity Index (E), and Dominance Index (C). The results showed that the Diversity Index (H') was 0.90, the Uniformity Index (E) was 0.50; Dominance Index (C) 0.53 and Relative Abundance (KR) for Katsuwonus pelamis 70.90%, Thunnus obesus 10.93%, Thunnus albacares 0.05%, Euthynus affinis 14.46%, Auxis thazard 0.77 and Rastelliger kanagurta 2.88%en_US
