| dc.description.abstract | Grammatical errors are the deviations of standart rules both in the written and spoken language which will influence the meaning of translation. Inacurracy of diction will also cause errors in delivering the messag from source language to target language. The objective of this research is to find out the gramatical errors and the inaccuraccy of diction on the translations of the historical, tourism, and cultural text in English found in the website of Toba Samosir Regency. The data are sentences found in the historical text: 23 setences, tourism text: 22 sentences and cultural text: 25 sentences in Indonesian and its translation in English translated by google and rater. The research methodology is descriptive kualitative method. The data are anlyzed by using the proposed by Dulayt, et al (1982) and Carl James (1988). There are four kinds of grammatical errors proposed by Dulay et al : they are omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. The result shows that the most grammatical errors is omission, followed by misordering, then misformation and addition. The most omission errors are found in the historical text: 40 errors (58,8%), then in the tourism text : 24 errors (45,3%) and in the cultural text : 22 errors (53,7%). The most misordering errors are found in the cultural text: 17 errors (32,1%), then in the historical text : 16 errors (23,5%) an in the tourism text: 9 errors (22,0%). The misformation errors are found in the cultural text: 10 errors (18,9%), then in the historical text: 9 errors (13,2%) and in the tourism text: 8 errors (19,5%). The most addition erros are found in the historical text: 3 errors (4,4%), then in the tourism and cultural text: 2 errors (4,9% and 3,8%). The most inacurracy of diction are found in the historical text: 18 (16%), then in the cultural text: 14 (11%) and in the tourosm text: 9 (9%). | en_US |
