An analysis has been carried out on the determination of Total Suspended Solid
(TSS) and Total Disolve Solid (TDS) levels in the Palm Oil Industry Liquid Waste with
gravimetry method in UPT. Environmental Laboratory, Environment Office of North
Sumatra Province. The determination of Total Suspended Solid (TSS) levels begins with
the preparation of Whatmann filter paper No.47 using Aquadest, then dried, then cooled
and weighed to a constant weight. The result of such weighing is used as the initial weight
of the filter paper. then re-carried out the filtering process on the Liquid Waste sample
using filter paper that has been weighed, then dried filter paper, then cooled and weighed
to a constant weight, the result of the weighing is used as the final weight of the filter
paper. In determining the level of Total Disolve Solid (TDS) begins with the preparation
of Porcelain Cup using aquadest, then dried, then weighed to a constant weight. The result
of such weighing is used as the initial weight of the porcelain cup. Then the filtering
process is carried out on the liquid waste sample using whatmann filter paper No.47 until
obtained filtrate, then the obtained filtrate is inserted into the Porelin Cup that has been
weighed, then evaporated filtrate until it runs out, then cooled Porcelain Cup, then
weighed to a constant weight. The result of the weighing is used as the final weight of the
Porcelain Cup. From the weighing results, calculations were then carried out so that the
total suspended solid (TSS) level of 50.3 mg / l ; 70 mg / l; 2017.2 mg/l; 163 mg/l and
1949.33 mg/l. And obtained total disolve solid (TDS) levels of 120 mg / l; 426,667 mg/l;
152 mg/l; 506,667 mg/l and 96 mg/l. The maximum level of Total Suspended Solid (TSS)
and Total Disolve Solid (TDS) in industrial liquid waste is 200 mg / l for Total Suspended
Solid (TSS) and 2000mg / l for Total Disolve Solid (TDS) in accordance with the
regulation of the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia No. 05 of 2014 and
it is known that there are 2 samples that do not meet the quality standards of Total
Suspended Solid (TSS) levels, namely code samples 30 / LC / 01 / 2022 and 32 / LC /
01/2022.
