Programmable Logic Control (PLC) is a microcontroller made to meet the
need of the industrial world. The use of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) as a
control device in running one-phase induction motor to do a processing job in the
world of industry, where the Programmable Logic Control (PLC) has a non-linear
load characteristic generating harmonisa. Therefore, harmonisa arised in the
Programmable Logic Control (PLC) can be reduced by using the passive single tuned
filter and the passive second order filter that it can meet the standard of IEC61000-
3-2 Class D. The comparison of the use of these two passive filters to reduce the
harmonisa by using Matlab/Simulink program as known their results such as by using
passive single tuned filter can reduce the total distortion of harmonisa current
(THDi) from 116.4% to 16.55% while by using passive second order filter can reduce
the total distortion of harmonisa current (THDi) from 116.4% to 17.59%. At every
order, the impedance of passive singled tuned filter was less than the impedance of
passive second order filter. Greater impedance can cause the filter experience much
more heat.
