Manajemen Transportasi Publik dalam Mendukung Perencanaan dan Pengembangan Wilayah di Kota Medan (Studi Kasus Angkutan Umum di Kota Medan)

Abstract

Public transportation is an important means of transport in supporting the daily activities and the mobility of the people in urban lives. The study aims is analyzing the influence of public transportation management to urban planning and regional development, both directly and indirectly. This study was conducted in 21 districts at Medan with the number of the respondents of 400 people. Source of data are primary and secondary data obtained through questionnaires and documentations. While the analysis of the data used the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with AMOS program. The results showed that significant influence on the transportation management and urban planning, and the significant influence of the transportation management to the development of the region. The influence of urban planning for the development of the region is significant. The Novelty in this research is the development of the region affected by the transportation management through city planning.
