| dc.description.abstract | This study aims at (1) identifying thematic variation of Gurindam Dua Belas translational text of Malay into English, (2) describing the supporting factors of thematic variation in translational text of Gurindam Dua Belas from Malay into English, and (3) analyzing the effect of thematic variation toward text of each contexts in Gurindam Dua Belas translational text. This research uses qualitative research. The source of data is Gurindam Dua Belas text adopted from Raja Ali Haji museum in Kepulauan Riau province and The Twelve Aphorism book of karya Aswandi Ariyoes. The data analysed are all clauses in both Malay English text, consisting of 159 cluases. The data analysis is based on Linguistic Systemic fungtional theory by Halliday combined with Translatic based mechanism with analysis model based on KST. Based on the analysis found, it is found that (1) there is 50.94% of clauses show low thematic variation on Gurindam Dua Belas translational text, (2) the supporting factors of the low variation of the translational text are the intrinsic factor including the similarity of grammatical unsure and extrinsic factors which both text has the same register, and (3) the effect of the low variation toward text of each contexts is not found, where there is no differences between two texts in register, culture, and ideology contexts. | en_US |
