dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this research was to know the effect of addition of adsorbent (zeolite active and arang active) and mixing temperature to the quality of purified jelantah oil. The research was performed using factorial completely randomized design with two factors. The first factor was comparison of zeolite active with charcoal active (A) consisted of A1 = 20%:80%, A2 = 40%:60%, A3 = 60%;40%, A4= 80%:20%. The second factor was mixing temperature (T) consisted of T1 = 80oC, T2 = 90oC, T3 = 100oC, T4 = 110oC. Parameters observed were water content, dirty content, free fatty acid content, peroxide value, colour index value, viscosity, organoleptic value of warna and aroma. The result showed that comparison of zeolite active with charcoal active gave highly significant effect on water content, dirty content, free fatty acid content, organoleptic value (warna). Mixing temperature gave highly significant effect on water content, dirty content, free fatty acid content, peroxide value, viscosity, and organoleptic value (warna and aroma) of purified jelantah oil. The interaction between comparison of zeolite active with charcoal and mixing temperature gave highly significant effect on water content, and gave not significant effect on dirty content, peroxide acid, viscosity, and organoleptic value (warna and aroma) of purified jelantah oil. Comparison of zeolite active with charcoal active with concentration 20%:80% and mixing temperature 90oC gave the best quality.en_US
